Regulatory Issue review of 2018 and a look ahead at 2019. The different types of pesticide inspections and how to prepare for an inspection will be discussed. The Pesticide label: understanding the language and its meaning. Professionalism and Best Management Practices for applicators and others as a foundation for our industry.
About the Speaker:
Laurie Rocco, is the Pesticide Inspector in Western Massachusetts. She has years of experience dealing with regulatory matters throughout the state. She is also coordinating the new trainings for Worker Protection Standards on farms in the Commonwealth.

Speaker: Barry K. Green II, President of Jonathan Green, Inc.
Subject: A review of the challenging 2018 Landscape Season and Solutions & Ideas for the Upcoming Season

This first part presentation will discuss the reasons for the many challenges that landscapers faced in 2018. The proliferation of weeds, insect and disease and potential solutions going forward will be detailed. The second part of the presentation provides a plan that will improve the health of the soil: using proper fertilizers, genetically superior grass seeds, soil amendments and improved cultural practices.
About the Speaker:
Barry grew up in the family business working for Jonathan Green, Inc. from the age of 12. Barry has literally done every job in the grass seed business from mixing grass seed and unloading trucks to contracting grass seed acres with seed farmers in Oregon, or discussing turfgrass attributes with grass plant breeders. After graduating from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1977, Barry joined the business full time. Jonathan Green Inc. offers a full line of grass seed products such as the Black Beauty Mixtures and traditional and organic lawn and garden fertilizers, soil amendments and control products.
